candidate Ian Snell. 3 IP, no hits, 1BB & 4 SO. Might even be opening day starter for PIT.
Josh Hamilton - Sounds like Griffey Jr. might be out longer than expected which means it is now even more likely that Hamilton will make this team. Is hitting .571 thru 28 ABs. Take a late round flier on him in NL only leagues.
Anibal Sanchez - Quitely putting together a great spring. Has only given up 1 ER (a HR) in 8+ innings. This guy is very mature for his age and I think he is being drafted much later than he should in NL and mixed leagues. It looks as though his shoulder woes are behind him.
Russ Ortiz - Solid spring but stay away.
Mike Pelfrey - He should win the #5 job in NY. Mike Pelfrey = future star, Chan Ho Park = bad.
Mark Prior - Pitching in a minor league game Friday. I would still take a flier on him. He's been going as high as the 12 round in some mixed leagues, but I wouldn't touch him until the 18th or later.
St. Louis starters - Dave Duncan could be working his magic again on journeyman Kip Wells and former reliever Braden Looper. They have both looked real solid this spring and could put up decent W numbers. It looks as though both Edmonds and Encarnacion will be on the DL to start the season though.
Chris Duncan - Wants the LF job all to himself with the solid spring he is having. 10 for 37, 6BB, 2HR, & 6RBI.
